Frequently Asked Questions
When and why might I seek a consultation?
If you are at a crossroads, trying to decide whether to divorce or not, or trying to decide what route to take, a one-session consultation could be helpful to you in sorting out answers to these questions.
What is the difference between consultation and psychotherapy?
Consultation is typically one session with a possible follow-up(s) down the road. Psychotherapy is more of an ongoing process of support, feedback and advice that can help you through difficult times. The frequency and duration of sessions are mutually determined by client and therapist.
What is the difference between psychotherapy and mediation?
Mediation is a process in which a mediator or team of mediators helps you and your partner in trying to reach agreements regarding your divorce and/or co-parenting your children during and after the divorce. I corroborate with my family law specialist partner, Joann Campoy, in helping you mediate your divorce. I also mediate with co-parents during and after a divorce, to help reach decisions related to raising your children.
